Medical
Specialties available in the Army National Guard:
If your
Medical Specialty is one of the above and you meet the eligibility
requirements, you can become a valued member of the Army National Guard Medical
Department. Once you sign a service agreement with the Guard, you will receive
a Medical Corps commission and service in the Army National Guard Medical
Department in your community.
BENEFITS:
Healthcare Professional Bonus
Healthcare providers in the Medical specialties listed below that sign a
three-year service agreement are eligible to receive $30,000 bonus, paid over
the three years at $10,000 per year.
Only the
following Medical Specialties are eligible for the bonus:
Healthcare Professional
Loan Repayment Program (HPLR)
Healthcare
providers in the specialties listed below are eligible for the Healthcare
Professionals Loan Repayment Program and receive up to $50,000 in loan
repayment. The HPLR program pays up to $20,000 a year toward your qualified
student loan. A maximum of $20,000 will be applied to an education loan for the
first two years with the final $10,000 being paid the third year, up to a
maximum of $50,000.
Only the
following Medical Specialties are eligible for the bonus:
Specialized Training
Assistance Program (STRAP)
Healthcare
providers that are training in the specialties list are eligible for the
Specialized Training Assistance Program, for which they will receive a monthly
stipend of $1020 per month.
Participants
must be unconditionally accepted into the educational program or residency, as
applicable, for which they seek funding.
